Chasm

 At this point between

Paradise and inferno

Chasms and quakes

Storms leaden and roaring

Lava blooms crimson shrieks and streams

Scorching the azure

A barrage of automatic fire hatred

Chopped limbs wailing enemies

Deep cold slate pimp hard cool

A sceptr’d fist long sleek open sedan

Sweat-shining multitude of warriors

Who fear no pain no terror no death

In darkened halls of power

Invade the fragile bones and veins

Of this helpless human terrain

Fuel and fire, razor wire

Sometimes, it’s only the anger

That keeps us alive

But there is another thing

Utterly serene as the

Pulpy leaves of a sheltering tree

Warm, caring arms, cocoon’s embrace

The toddling peals of the children

Regardless of color

Alone, the intimacy of the glowing

Star we know the sol, sun, hii, , on a deserted beach

Fingers clasped in each other’s

Marching for a better life

Or in the pub, with the bredrens, mirth alive

Laughing to keep from crying

And an elusive land called peace

And a presence we call almighty

That restrains, for now

The machete-handled

Pursuit

Of the Beast
